As long as the R&RHoF is run by a couple of dudes who seem to make their choices haphazardly, it's pretty hard to take it serious. There are plenty of rock pioneers who are constantly overlooked - while the most recent pop acts are selected for induction... I guess in an effort to appeal to younger generations. I have nothing against contemporary artists.
Well...at least not the ones with talent. When the R&RHoF starts becoming more thorough in their research, acknowledgme nt, and selections, I'll have more respect for it. Start from the roots of Rock & Roll. Take your time, and slowly work forward chronologica lly. I recommend sending ballots of carefully selected nominees to multiple seasoned Rock artists who have decades of success in the industry to offer their choices.
Over 100 Millioin albums sold! They are the greatest Arena band ever! They're shows kick ass, and they have a huge worldwide fan base that will not let them retire! I guess because the Scorpions are not from Ohio or Mid USA, which seems to be a requirement (Cheap Trick...). One negative that is frowned upon by the Hall of Fame is, if you are hugely popular around the World and sell out soccer stadiums, that is frowned upon by the H&F. Also if your songs were not played by bubble gum teenagers, then that is a negative as well. If you wrote songs to help good causes and nations, that also is a negative. But the rules change all the time. Oh wait, if you are a German Rock band, you have no chance, no matter if you have outsold 50% of the bands already inducted!
