Unlike a lot of people who portray “Foreign” characters, Adnan Al-Kaissie really was from Iraq. He was a legitimate amateur wrestler and when he claimed he was childhood friends with Saddam Hussein, well, he actually was! Adnan however didn’t become a star in the United States initially under his real name or Iraqi nationality. Rather, his first taste of stardom was as the Native American, Billy White Wolf where he captured titles world wide and even won the WWF Tag Titles with “fellow Indian” Jay Strongbow. Sadly injuries kept piling up, and he would have to vacate those belts. He would return to America as the top heel manager in the AWA and would hold that spot for nearly a decade. His wrestling skills had eroded, but he was still a great heel manager and when the AWA folded he was still useful as Slaughter’s General.
Adnan tried to bring pro wrestling to Iraq and although it didn’t quite work, he did at least try. If you go by his overall body of work as opposed to just his final WWF run (which is what he is most known for) he does make a very intriguing case for induction.
