gold star for USAHOF

Yesterday, we discussed how it wouldn’t be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame without a potential inductee (in this case it was Trent Reznor) essentially saying it was worthless. It also wouldn’t be the Rock Hall with another potential inductee (Ted Nugent) implying it was criminal that he was not included.

In an interview with My Global Mind Magazine, Nugent had the following to say about his omission from the Hall:

“I have some really clear thoughts. Its sacrilege, it’s ultimately disrespectful and cruel to Chuck, Bo and Little Richard and all the founding fathers in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Because the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame means something and I don’t have to explain to you because you know, and you don’t have to explain it to me. Abandon egos, bragging, and Ted Nugent speaking on behalf of Ted Nugent; is it or is it not vulgar, dishonest, and obscene that Grand Master Flash, Patti Smith, and ABBA are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but Ted ‘Fucking’ Nugent isn’t!

Is that the most outrageous and disgusting lie you have ever seen? Joe Walsh nailed it; ‘It’s not music lover driven.’ He used the word fan, and it’s not fan driven. Its ultra leftist liberal CEO driven gang who couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the music.”

David Crosby, a two time inductee with the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash responded on Twitter with a simple shot:

“That is really funny stuff ....he’s not good enough and he never will be ....a hack player and no singer at all ....could not write a decent song if his life depended on it”

If this seems familiar, it is because the same thing happened a year ago where Nugent stated he should be in, and Crosby decreed the Motor City Madman (actually he called him an asshole) wasn’t good enough.

Damn, we love the drama that this Hall continues to create!

We love a good feud…especially when it is over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

While it was always safe to assume that Ted Nugent and David Crosby were never likely to share a stage, it is certainly a lot more likely now.

Recently, Nugent stated that his omission from the Rock Hall stemmed solely from his participation with the National Rifle Association.  When a fan asked Crosby on Twitter as to whether that was the reason why the Motor City Madman was omitted his response was not exactly kind:

“No the asshole just isn’t good enough”

You didn’t think Nugent would let that go did you?

On Nugent’s Facebook Page, he responded on a more personal level:

“Everybody knows that David Crosby is an evil rotten soulless punk that has criminally poisoned his bloated carcass his entire vapid life.  I couldn't be more proud that such an uncaring dirtbag hates me while he competes with Michael Moore to see who can go the longest without hygiene. Zombieboy would hurt himself if he tried real rockNroll like mine. Lets all pray he can form a syllable before his borrowed liver fails."

This is not the first time the two have bickered over social media as Crosby was critical of Nugent for supporting U.S. President Donald Trump and his visit to the White House.

So if Nugent does get inducted does this mean that Crosby won’t be the inductor?
Is Ted Nugent a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer?

If you ask the Motor City Madman, he would certainly say yes but his association with the NRA is why he has been omitted.

This was essentially what he said when he was interviewed by Albany Q103:

“Jan Wenner, the founder of Rolling Stone and the boss hog at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he hates freedom, he hates the Second Amendment, he hates me, because I’m on the Board of Directors – quite proudly – of the National Rifle Association…so that’s the only reason I’m not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

He would however go on to say that he would accept the invitation should he be invited.

Is this something we should hold our breath on?

For what it is worth, Nugent is ranked #198 by us on our Notinhalloffame.com Rock and Roll list.

244. Ted Nugent

One of the criticisms of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is that some of the potential inductees to the Hall may be considered more because of their draw at the ceremony as opposed to their music. There are many whose induction speech might bring tears to eyes. Somehow, we don’t think that Ted Nugent is one of those artists.
