It is Hall of Fame Season isn’t it?
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced their 15 Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalists who are as follows:
Morten Andersen, Place Kicker
Jerome Bettis, Running Back
Tim Brown, Wide Receiver/Returner
Don Coryell, Head Coach
Terrell Davis, Running Back
Tony Dungy, Head Coach
Kevin Greene, Linebacker/Defensive End
Charles Haley, Linebacker/Defensive End
Marvin Harrison, Wide Receiver
Jimmy Johnson, Head Coach
John Lynch, Safety
Orlando Pace, Offensive Tackle
Junior Seau, Linebacker
Will Shields, Offensive Guard
Kurt Warner, Quarterback:
This group of fifteen is joined by three more Finalists, Senior Nominee and former Center, Mick Tingelhoff, and executives Bill Polian and Ron Wolf.
Over the next two weeks, we will take a deeper look at each candidate and take a look at his Hall of Fame credentials, though there are a few things worth noting quickly:
Junior Seau, Orlando Pace and Kurt Warner are on their first year on the ballot.
A minor snub, in our eyes anyway, is that Torry Holt did not advance from the Semi-Finalists.
To enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a candidate must receive 80 percent of the 46 member committee.
