95. Red Berenson

While Gordon “Red” Berenson would win a Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1965, he really did not have much to do with that title.  Unable to find a permanent spot on their roster, he would be traded to the New York Rangers but it was when he was traded to the expansion St. Louis Blues early into the 1967-68 he would not just find a place in the professional ranks but in a starring capacity.

Berenson was considered by many to be one of the top players in the new Western Division and he would take the St. Louis Blues to three straight Stanley Cup Finals.  Berenson would have four straight 50 Point seasons including an 82 Point season (1968-69) where he would finish fourth in Hart Trophy voting.  The next season he had 72 Points, was the league leader in Game Winning Goals and was third in Hart Trophy voting.  He would later have a pair of 60 Point seasons for the Detroit Red Wings.

While it was in a limited role, Berenson was chosen to represent Canada in the Summit Series for Canada were they defeated the Soviet Union in 1972.
