From the Country Music Soap Opera, Nashville, we have Layla Grant, whom we can argue was chewed up and spit out by the Music City. Grant arrived as a new rival for Juliette Barnes, but her star rose as part of a reality show where she came across as the ditzy victim after unknowingly getting married to a labelmate who was secretly gay. Despite having hits, Grant would be humiliated over and over, and we never saw any career resurrection, and she would skulk away from the city and the series.
