Spinal Tap seems to be the more recognizable group now, but in 1982 it appeared that Duke Fame was the more significant act at the time. From the documentary, "This is Spinal Tap," Tap was in Memphis at the same as Duke, who was playing a much bigger venue and did not seem to be that impressed with meeting the legendary metal band. Fame was promoting his new album whereby the album cover had him surrounded by naked women who were holding bullwhips, something that Spinal Tap found stupid, which was ironic considering what the original artwork of Smell the Glove had.
