Taken in the Third Round of the 1971 Draft, Defenseman Bill Hajt would play his entire career with the team that took him, the Buffalo Sabres.
It is certainly correct in stating that Bill Hajt was never a superstar in the National Hockey League and when you speak about stay-at-home Defensemen but when you are good at that you accomplish the intangibles that any National Hockey League team would covet. As such it is not really that much of a surprise that his entire professional career was spent with the Buffalo Sabres. Hajt would have five seasons that would see him finish in the top ten in Defensive Point Shares, and there are a lot of more recognized blueliners that can’t say that.
