Yes, we know that this is taking a while!

As many of you know, we at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the top 50 of each major North American sports team. That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists and consistently look to update them when necessary and based on necessity. As such, we are delighted to present our post-2023-24 revision of our top 50 Cleveland Cavaliers.

As for all of our top 50 players in basketball, we look at the following:

1.  Advanced Statistics.

2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National Basketball Association.

3.  Playoff accomplishments.

4.  Their overall impact on the team and other intangibles that are not reflected in a stat sheet.

Last year, Cleveland had a good season and continued to build around their young and dynamic team.  There was no new entrant but five elevations.

As always, we present our top five, which saw no changes:

1. LeBron James
2. Mark Price
3. Brad Daugherty
4. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
5. Larry NanceYou can find the entire list here.

Center and 2022 All-Star Jarrett Allen broke into the top 15 and is now at #11.  He was ranked at #22 before

The returning Tristan Thompson inched up one spot to #12.

Superstar Donovan Mitchell, who has only been a Cavalier for two years, rocketed up the list from #40 to #20.  Only in Basketball can we see that happen!

Guard Darius Garland advanced to #31 from #36.

Power Forward Evan Mobley went to #32 from #45.

We thank you for your continued support of our lists on Notinhalloffame.com.

The problem with running a Hall of Fame-related website is that many of the big ones we cover all have announcements within months of each other.  The backbone of what we do is list-related, resulting in a long push to revise what we already have, specifically now with our Football and Basketball Lists.

At present, we have a minor update as we have completed the ninth ten of the 2024 Basketball List, which you can comment on and vote on:

The new 81 to 90:

81. Latrell Sprewell
82. Dick Garmaker
83. Dan Majerle
84. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
85. Reggie Theus
86. Johnny Green
87. Mel Hutchins
88. Shareef Abdur-Rahim
89. Ron Harper
90. Wayman Tisdale

Rankings are impacted annually based on your comments and votes.

Thank you all for your patience. We will soon unveil more changes to the football and basketball lists.

Yes, we know that this is taking a while!

As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the 50 of each major North American sports team.  That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists out and we always consistently look to update them when we can and based on necessity.  As such, we are very happy to present our post 2022/23 revision of our top 50 Cleveland Cavaliers.

As for all of our top 50 players in basketball we look at the following:

1.  Advanced Statistics.

2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National Basketball Association.

3.  Playoff accomplishments.

4.  Their overall impact on the team and other intangibles not reflected in a stat sheet.

Last year, Cleveland returned to the playoffs after a significant drought, and this generated some list fluctuation with two new entrants.

As always, we present our top five, which was not affected by the last season:

1. LeBron James

2. Mark Price

3. Brad Daugherty

4. Zydrunas Ilgauskas

5. Larry Nance

You can find the entire list here.

Kevin Love, who was traded during the year to Miami, was unable to rise from his #8 spot.

Jarrett Allen shot up to #22 from #35.

Another significant jump came from Darius Garland, who advanced from #49 to #36.

Donovan Mitchell, who just had the best season of his career, debuted at #40.

The second new player is Evan Mobley, who comes in at #45.

We welcome your input and comments and as always, we thank you for your support.

Yes, we know that this is taking a while!

As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the 50 of each major North American sports team.  We have a new one to unveil today, that of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers were formed in 1970, but it was not until they drafted LeBron James. They would reach the NBA Finals for the first time in 2007, but James grew frustrated and took his talents to the Miami Heat.  He returned and brought Kevin Love with him and joined a team that had Kyrie Irving. The Cavaliers would win the Eastern Conference four years in a row (2015-18), and they would win their first and only championship in 2016.

As for all of our top 50 players in basketball we look at the following:

1.  Advanced Statistics.

2. Traditional statistics and how they finished in the NBA.

3. Playoff accomplishments.

4. Their overall impact on the team and other intangibles not reflected in a stat sheet.

Remember, this is ONLY based on what a player does on that particular team and not what he accomplished elsewhere and also note that we have placed an increased importance on the first two categories.

This list is updated up until the end of the 2018-19 Season.

The complete list can be found here, but as always we announce our top five in this article.  They are:

1. LeBron James

2. Mark Price

3. Brad Daugherty

4. Zydrunas Ilgauskas

5. Larry Nance

We will continue our adjustments on our existing lists and will continue developing our new lists.

Look for or All-Time Top 50 Edmonton Oilers coming next!

As always we thank you for your support.

From the basketball mad country of Lithuania, Zydrunas Ilgauskas was drafted 20th overall in 1996, and he would be named to the All-Rookie Team.  Injuries piled up on the big man over the next few seasons, but he would be healthy, and from the 2002-03 season to the 2005-06 season he would elevate to become one of the top Centers of the time.  In that stretch (which also coincided with the arrival of LeBron James) he would be named to two All-Star Games and averaged 16.2 Points, 7.9 Rebounds and 2.1 Blocks per Game.  Ilgauskas would play 12 seasons with the Cavaliers, and he is second all-time in Points, Rebounds and is first in Blocks.  He would have his #11 retired by the Cavs after his career was over.
It appears that the change is official and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has reduced the time required to enter the institution after retirement from five years to four.

As such, we here at Notinhalloffame.com looked at those who were eligible in 2017, and found that there were five former players who are worthy of our top 100 and changes were made right from the top.

Allen Iverson was at number one, but the former Point Guard lost that spot to the multi time NBA Champion, and one of the most dominating big men of all-time, Shaquille O’Neal.  It is expected, that O’Neal will get in immediately.

Yao Ming will debut at number three, just edging out a former number one, Chris Webber who has now dropped to the fourth spot.  Ming had a relatively speaking short NBA career, but he was a five time post season All-NBA selection and almost single handedly raised the game in China to huge proportions.

The three other players who have advanced from the futures to the main Notinhalloffame Basketball list are Peja Stojakovic (#39), Zydrunas Ilgauskas  (#57) and Antonio McDyess (#68).

All other Future eligible players have had their sections moved up one year in accordance with the new rules.

If you have not cast a vote for the players on the basketball list, we certainly encourage you to do so and we thank you for all of your support!

90. Zydrunas Ilgauskas

A longtime member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Zydrunas Ilgauskas brought his tall frame from Lithuania and became one of the top offensive rebounders in the league. He was also adept at blocking and at his prime pumped in a 15 point plus average and was often considered the top part of LeBron James’ supporting cast. The Lithuanian likely won’t make the Hall of Fame, but had Cleveland won the Finals, would he be in the conversation?
