214. Paul Thompson

The younger brother of Hockey Hall of Famer, Tiny Thompson, Paul Thompson was a star player in his own right.  Three times Thompson would hoist the Stanley Cup and he would be named to two post-season NHL All-Star Teams.  Thompson’s best seasons as a player were with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he would serve as the team’s Head Coach for seven years.

Paul Thompson would win a Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers in 1928 but he after he was traded to Chicago prior to the 1931-32 Season he would go on the best run of his playing career.

We wondered aloud if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just plain forgot about our next selection. It is curious that with both the Velvet Underground and the Talking Heads enshrined that Roxy Music; the premier Art Rock band between them has not received a serious look for induction.
