Bye Bye Birdie made Ann Margaret a star and was one of the top teen comedies of the early 60’s. In the film, she is chosen to be the “last kiss” before teen idol, Conrad Birdie enters the Army as he was drafted. Clearly inspired by Elvis Presley’s actual draft years earlier, the film was well received, though it barely did anything for Jesse Pearson, who played the teen heartthrob. If that is the case, can this really be a serious contender? The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Bye Bye Birdie (1963) Actor: Jesse Pearson Songs you might remember: One Last Kiss Honestly Sincere Why you should vote for him: The film was actually decent.
