The problem with running a Hall of Fame-related website is that many of the big ones we cover all have announcements within months of each other.  The backbone of what we do is list-related, resulting in a long push to revise what we already have, specifically now with our Football Hockey and Basketball Lists.

At present, we have a minor update as we have completed the next ten of the 2024 Hockey List, which you can comment on and vote on:

The new 41 to 50:

41. Paul Henderson
42. Bobby Smith
43. Patrik Elias
44. Andy Moog
45. Vladimir Krutov
46. Brian Propp
47. Pat Stapleton
48. Alexei Kasatonov
49. Neal Broten
50. Mathieu Schneider

Rankings are impacted annually based on your comments and votes.

Thank you all for your patience. We will soon unveil more changes to the football and basketball lists.

We know…this process of developing the Top 50 All-time of every major franchise is taking us some time, but we aren’t on a time limit are we?

We here now completed the top 50 for the Dallas Stars.

As for all of our top 50 players in hockey we look at the following:

  1. 1. Advanced Statistics, such as Cori and Point Shares.
  1. 2. Traditional statistics and how they finished in the National Hockey League
  1. 3. Playoff accomplishment.
  1. 4. Their overall impact on the team and other intangibles not reflected in a stat sheet.

Remember, this is ONLY based on what a player does on that particular team and not what he accomplished elsewhere and also note that we have placed an increased importance on the first two categories.

This list is updated up until the end of the 2017-18 Season.

The complete list can be found here, but as always we announce our top five in our news. They are:

1. Mike Modano

2. Sergei Zubov

3. Marty Turco

4. Derian Hatcher

5. Jamie Benn

So which team is up next?

We go back to the diamond and look at the top 50 Kansas City Royals of all time.

Look for that in a couple of months.

As always, we here at Notinhalloffame.com thank you for your support.

15. Bobby Smith

The number one draft pick in 1978 did not disappoint, as Bobby Smith would promptly win the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie.  Smith would prove to be an excellent playmaker tallying over 70 Points in his first five seasons as a North Star.  This included a 114 Point season in the 1981-82 season, enough for eighth overall in the league.

42. Bobby Smith

In the era of star centers, it is easy to forget about Bobby Smith. As a player who once scored more points than Wayne Gretzky to win the OMJHL scoring title, Smith entered the NHL with a bang winning the Calder Trophy with the Minnesota North Stars. Smith was a quiet star in the NHL who was leadership and passing skills seemed to go unnoticed expect during playoff runs in Minnesota and Montreal. Smith finished his career with over 1,000 points but he seemed to do so without a lot of people taking notice.
