Albert King was drafted 10^th overall in 1981 from the University of Maryland and he would become the team’s starting Small Forward for most of the next six seasons.  While King was there, the Nets made the playoffs five times and in his first five years in the NBA he averaged at least 12 Points per Game.  His best season was in 1982/83 where he had career highs in Points (17.0), Rebounds (5.8), and Assists (3.7) per Game.  He would play 410 Games for New Jersey before signing with their division rival, the Philadelphia 76ers.

The heart of the Mississippi Delta has brought the world a lot of great musicians, and one of its best has to be the left handed Blues guitarist, Albert King. Normally it isn’t a big deal to be left handed, but when you didn’t restring your guitar and essentially played it upside down, it is definitely worth mentioning.
