Solo careers of the artists of massively successful bands seem to go either way. As successful as John Lennon was, it could be argued that solo efforts of Roger Daltrey is looking to escape a garage sale near you. The first glance may put Robert Plant somewhere in between.
We wonder if an artist associated with a bubblegum type of musical career has a shot at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Should one get in, we might bet on Neil Sedaka; whose career was actually quite extensive despite what many think.
As the 1960’s ended a wave a bands that drove a harder edge to their sound began to emerge. Some found success in the States, some Europe, but few seemed able to crack both. Somehow, when we look back, we would have thought that Uriah Heep could have been one of those bands.
When this website was first thought up, we really didn’t pay attention to Country music and we were a little surprised to see that Hank Williams was one of the early inductees. Upon more research and reflection, Williams’ induction made more sense to us. We wonder how many people think that Patsy Cline should be inducted along side him.
