Their incredible musicianship aside, The Damned's influence is HUGE. They were the first punk rock band to release a single (New Rose) in '76. Alongside the Clash and Sex Pistols they spearheaded the U.K. punk scene.

They have also remained active through an incredible 42 years, morphing their sound as they saw fit. Dave Vanian's crooning vocals and Captain Sensible's psychedelic riffs sounding down the decades. Indeed, they were one of the first gothic rock bands to emerge in the early '80s.

In 2018, their music's ever reminiscent of their punk rock, psychedelic and gothic days, whilst still producing new sounds. Legions of U.K. and U.S. fans still pack sell out shows, and with their 2018 album, Evil Spirits reached number #7 in the U.K.'s Official Charts, their first LP to chart in the top ten - the demand for the Damned endures!

They're overdue for induction into the Hall of Fame.
