gold star for USAHOF

Is this the year Curt Schilling makes it into the National Baseball Hall of Fame? Will Schilling be the only player elected to the Hall this year? After all the tumultuous voting activity of the 2010s, has voting for the Hall returned to "normal"?

Only a crystal ball, or the patience to wait until voting results for the 2021 Baseball Hall of Fame are announced on January 26, 2021, can give us the definitive answers, but of course that doesn't stop us from prognosticating before we learn the results.

For now, the short answers are:

1. Maybe.

2. Possibly.

3. Likely.

2021 BBWAA Hall of Fame Ballot: Executive Summary

Shane Victorino made history in 2009 as the first Hawaiian to become an All-Star and it was a well earned honor for the then Philadelphia Phillie.  Victorino, also known as “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” was an exciting player who would use his speed to twice lead the NL in Triples (2009 & 2011) and would have four seasons with 25 Stolen Bases.  He was a two-time All-Star and a three time Gold Glove but his career highlight had to be winning the World Series with Philadelphia in 2008.

Shane Victorino

While Shane Victorino is not likely to escape the first year on the ballot, “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” has quite a few accolades to comfort him.  Victorino has two World Series rings, four Gold Gloves and a pair of All Star appearances and the fleet footed outfielder would also lead his league in Triples twice.  This is a pretty good career, wouldn’t you agree?
