Larry Nance was a very solid forward in the NBA who is most known for winning the first All-Star game slam dunk competition in a huge upset. At 6 foot 11, Nance was a player that could flat get up in the air, but he was much more than just a dunker.
He played on the great Cavalier teams of the late 80’s and early 90’s that though they never got over the hump were as good as any team never to play in a Final. Nance was also a very good defender who earned All NBA accolades in that category and retired with the most dunks by a non center in league history. A career 17 point and 8 rebound a night game, Nance was the model of consistency but was never flashy except for when he was flying though the air ready to tomahawk another dunk.
