Alex Bregman was drafted second overall in 2015 it did not take him long to reach the Major Leagues as he reached the highest level in 2016.  The Infielder had 158 Hits in the Astros’ World Series Championship season in 2017 and he had an even better 2018 with a league-leading 51 Doubles with 31 Home Runs and 103 Runs Batted In.

How do you top that?  You go from 5th place in MVP voting to 2nd, which is how his 2019 went.  Bregman had 41 Home Runs, 112 RBIs, and would lead the AL in Walks (119).  Pair that with an All-Star, Silver Slugger, Pennant, and a Slash Line of .296/.423/.592, and you have a damned good season.  Considering his youth and that he is still a Houston Astro, there is a lot of reason to think that this ranking will not only rise but will skyrocket, but he needed to do better than the average seasons he posted in 2020 and 2021.

That is what he did in 2022, with a 23 HR/.820 OPS year, but it is below from what he did only a few years earlier.  In 2022 he had another solid season (25 HR/98 RBI/.804 OPS), and in 2024, after another solid offensive year, he won his first Gold Glove.

Bregman is one of the select few who have two World Series Rings as an Astro.  Time will tell whether he is a top-five franchise player or not.
