Days from the January 24, 2023, announcement by the National Baseball Hall of Fame of candidates who may have been elected by the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA), the burning question is not who those candidates, if any, will be. Instead, the burning question is: What morality are BBWAA voters going to legislate for the Hall of Saints this year?

For more than a decade, the controversy over performance-enhancing drugs (PED) has consumed discussion about who should or should not be elected to the Hall, capped by the late Hall of Famer Joe Morgan's now-infamous 2017 missive to voters about keeping the PED Penitents out of Cooperstown. But although the PED predicament remains—among the returning candidates on the 2023 BBWAA ballot are Manny Ramirez and Álex Rodriguez—voters are now finding other performance flaws in candidates to deny them entrance to the Hallowed Hall.

Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB.  Once that is done, we intend to look at how each team honor their past players, coaches and executives.  As such, it is important to us that Bronson Arroyo has been selected to the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.

Chosen via the Modern Era route, Arroyo had two runs with Cincinnati (2006-13 & 2017), where he posted a record of 108-100 with 1,157 Strikeouts.  Arriving in Cincinnati from a trade from Boston, the Pitcher was an All-Star in his first season with the Reds (2006), and was the National League leader in Innings Pitched (240.7), and a five-time club leader in that category.  He was also the 2010 Gold Glove recipient.

Arroyo will be joined by a Veteran’s Committee candidate at a later date, and that group will be inducted on July 15.

Bronson Arroyo spent most of his pitching career for the Cincinnati Reds but it was earlier in his career where he had his greatest team success where he was a member of the Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series Championship team.  With the Reds he had five 14 Win Seasons and was an All-Star in 2006 where he led the National League in Games Started and Innings Pitched.  2010 was a better season where he had a career high 17 Wins, won the Gold Glove and finished 12^th in Cy Young voting.  He retired with a record of 148 and 137.

A member of the 2004 Boston Red Sox World Series Championship Team, Bronson Arroyo would go on to have some good seasons in Cincinnati as a Starting Pitcher and would make the National League All Star Team and lead the league in Innings Pitched in 2006.
