Wine and scotch got better with age, and for years the sporting world thought Jamie Moyer did too. He holds multiple pitching records in regards to the oldest pitcher to do (insert accomplishment here) and is one of the rare players to have competed in four decades.

Moyer compiled a career record of 269 and 209 with 2,441 Strikeouts which is not out of line with other Hall of Famers, but the length of time it took him to get there has to be a factor. Moyer was never considered to be at any point of his career to be the top Pitcher in the Majors, or really even in the top five, and without that in his resume, it is difficult to see him enshrined in Cooperstown.
