The Artists

Johnny Fontaine

Loosely based on Frank Sinatra, Jonny Fontaine was a nice character in the first Godfather film that was one of the godson’s of Don Vito Corleone. The Godfather assisted Fontaine throughout his career, most notably with the use of severed head in the bed of a movie studio executive. It got him the part, and put the crooner back on top. If you vote for him, we will make you an offer you can’t refuse! The Bullet Points: Movies Appeared: The Godfather (1972) The Godfather Part III (1990) Actors: Al Martino Songs you might remember: I Have But One Heart…

Johnny Karate

So what do you do when you fail at becoming a successful Rock and Roll act? You become a children’s singer, which can be hired for kid’s parties. This.is what we have with Johnny Karate (Chris Pratt) whose previous band, Mouserat are still looking for that big break. Maybe Karate is the next Raffi? The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Parks and Recreation (2012) Actor: Chris Pratt Songs you might remember: Found a Way Why you should vote for him: Chris Pratt is a comedic gem on this show. Why you should not vote for him: A children’s singer probably…

Johnny Napalm

Looking like Blink-182 but acting like the Sex Pistols, Johnny Napalm is the punk rock representative in Guitar Hero. The genre of punk was not supposed to last, but as it is constantly resurrected, could this be the character from Guitar Hero that breaks through to the Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?              The Bullet Points: Video Game Appeared: Guitar Hero Actor:N/A Songs you might remember:None Why you should vote for him:The character bio is pure rock and roll attitude. Why you should not vote for him:Have we reached the stage where we want to induct video…

Johnny Quid

In Guy Ritchie’s mixed reviewed (though better than anything starring Madonna) film RocknRolla, we have another look at the British organized crime scene. One of the key characters is Johnny Quid, a drugged out wannabe Rock Star. Realistically, the fact that he is a musician is not that relevant to the plot and his music is not exactly featured. Still, we can’t help but cheer on and put someone on the ballot that wants to be a real “RocknRolla”! The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: RocknRolla (2008) Actor: Tony Kebbell Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for him:…

Johnny Squares

In what was the last (and by far the weakest) of the Dirty Harry Franchise, we were treated to Jim Carrey lip-syncing the Guns N’ Roses megahit, “Welcome to the Jungle” in the persona of Johnny Squares. With all due respect to Carrey, his performance was like a bad sketch and his character’s demise was not met with a lot of sorrow. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: The Dead Pool (1988) Actor: Jim Carrey Songs you might remember: Welcome to the Jungle Why you should vote for him: Carrey is one of the most successful comedic actors of all time.…

Johnny Suede

The first lead role of Brad Pitt saw him as the title role of Johnny Suede, an aspiring Rock Star looking to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Ricky Nelson. We can’t say that we remember anything that Johnny Suede sang (or even if he did) but we will be haunted by the gigantic pompadour that he sported in the film. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Johnny Suede (1991) Actor: Brad Pitt Songs you might remember: The Flame Still Burns Why you should vote for him: We would give him consideration just for that pompadour alone! Why you should…

Jonah Levin

Singers normally can act, though Paul Simon does seem to be the exception to the rule. In “One Trick Pony” Simon basoically plays himself (and is miserable at it) in a scenario that he was not successful. Either way, the film and the music were not successful; a rare miss for Simon.

Jonathan Keith

Before he became one of the most successful and powerful actors on Planet Earth, Brad Pitt was Jonathan Keith, Ben Seaver’s favorite singer. At this point, Pitt was just another pretty boy in Hollywood, but who knew that from this appearance that he was going to become such an icon. Wait, Ben Seaver did! The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Growing Pains (1988) Actor: Brad Pitt Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for him: Well, this is Brad Pitt. Why you should not vote for him: He was so mean to Ben at the end of the…

Jordan Cahill

Long before he made it to Saturday Night Live, Taran Killam was in a Disney TV Movie where he played a Pop Star whose life gets turned upside down when he loses his cell phone. If it sounded lame, it is because it was, but it did do well in the ratings for Disney.

Josie and the Pussycats (Movie)

You would think that a live action adaptation of a beloved cartoon would work, or at the very minimum turn a profit, but neither seemed to happen when Josie and the Pussycats hit the big screen. It was not that the parts were miscast as Rachel Leigh Cook was the perfect Josie and a pre-botched stomach operation Tara Reid was great as the dimwitted Melody. Hell the film had great actors all around, but the plotline where the Pussycats were being used as corporate shills by planting subliminal messages in their music was not interesting at all. You have to…

Judy Nails

She may not be our favorite named playable character in Guitar Hero, but the Canadian riot girl embodies the feminist rock and roll and alternative movement, which could me more than enough to get her through as the first Guitar Hero to get inducted.              The Bullet Points: Video Game Appeared: Guitar Hero Actor:N/A Songs you might remember:None Why you should vote for her:Does being Canadian count? Why you should not vote for him:Have we reached the stage where we want to induct video game characters?

Juliette Barnes

If you are the fictitious bubble gum Country princess does this qualify for a Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? When you are as cute as Hayden Panettiere, we think it might be worth a few votes. The Taylor Swift/Carrie Underwood knock off is getting solid reviews for her role, so this would not surprise us to see this entry do well; especially if Nashville remains on the air. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Nashville (2012-) Actors: Hayden Panettiere Songs you might remember: Boys and Busses Telescope Used Why you should vote for her: She emulates some of…

Kandy Floss

We have to admit we get a real big kick out of this one. Kandy Floss was a fake band that was created only for the purpose of convincing 10 B-Level British celebrities that it was real. Confused?   Let’s see if we can clear this one up.

Kaptian Kool and the Kongs

Kaptain Kool and the Kongs was a Rock band created for the Krofft Supershow; a Saturday Morning children’s variety show from the 70’s. They were presented as wacky and goofy (and frankly acted like they had too much sugar or perhaps a different substance) though were mostly just annoying; though most of things produced by the Kroffts had those qualities. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: The Krofft Supershow (1976-78) Actors: Michael Lembeck (Kaptain Kool) Debra Clinger (Superchick) Michael McMeel (Turkey) Louise DuArt (Nashville)   Bert Sommer (Flatbush) Songs you might remember: And I Never Dreamed Why you should vote for…

What is it about faded alcoholic Country Music stars that Hollywood likes to churn out ever so often? We have another entry from that genre with Gwyneth Paltrow, fresh off her box office bomb, Duets, which told us she could sing, but also told us that we didn’t care. It is not this movie was bad, it was just we had seen it all before and done better. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Country Strong (2010) Actor: Gwyneth Paltrow Songs you might remember: Country Strong Why you should vote for her: Paltrow really can sing. Why you should not vote…

Kick

The Rock and Wrestling connection took the pop culture world by storm in the mid-80’s and Hollywood took notice by making a film…that wasn’t very good. Played by a bunch of nobodies, Kick was the band who went on the road with Rowdy Roddy Piper and Face from the A-Team. It was a good thing that Piper was there as he distracted from the fact that Kick…sucked. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Body Slam (1986) Actors: Jack D’Amore Kelley Dillard David Hallowren Bruce Wallenstein Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: Just for the sake of…

Kidd Video

In what we thought was one of the more interesting cartoons of the 1980’s, Kidd Video was an MTV inspired creation that was half live, half animated and all Rock and Roll. The premise was a teen band that gets transported to the “Flipside”, which is animated and an evil record producer with the hope of making them their musical slaves chases them. A video would end each episode, and though there were only 22 created, it still resonates fond memories for many today.

Kids Incorporated

Here is one we thought we buried forever. Lasting for almost ten years, Kids Incorporated was a Saturday Morning show that featured a bunch of kids singing Pop Music covers. In the real canon of modern pop culture it is the show that first launched the career of Stacy Ferguson who we all know as “Fergie”. Beyond that this was standard Disney drivel that was best forgotten. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Kids Incorporated (1984-93) Actors: Stacy Ferguson Moosie Drier Rahsaan Patterson Renee Sands Marta Marrero Jerry Sharell Ryan Lambert Richard Shoff Connie Lew Kenny Ford Jr. Devyn Puett…

King Blues

From the early 80’s cult film, “Get Crazy” we have a series of bands who played at the fictitious Saturn Theatre (modeled after the famous Filmore East) for their 15th New Year’s Eve Show. The show opened with King of the Blues, who was named appropriately, King Blues. Played by Blues/Jazz singer, Bill Henderson, it was a nice kickoff to the show, but openers are generally not Hall of Fame worthy. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Get Crazy (1983) Actor: Bill Henderson Songs you might remember: The Blues had a Baby and Named it Rock and Roll Why you should…

King Thunder

As Sam Beckett travelled across time, he did inhabit the body of a few musicians though only that of the lead singer of King Thunder really stood out to us. The band was a KISS knockoff (a standard go to we have noticed for years) and watching Scott Bakula as Paul Stanley was worth a nod on the ballot in our eyes; though we have to seriously reevaluate this website if it gets inducted. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Quantum Leap (1991) Actor: Scott Bakula Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: Quantum Leap was…

Kovenant

Ned Flanders sure works fast. VERY soon after the death of his wife, he had a rebound relationship with Rachel Jordan (Voiced by Shawn Colvin), the lead singer of a Christian Rock Band named Kovenant. Of interest was that the band was heading out to tour the Monsters of Christian Rock tour. We wonder who headlined that? The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: The Simpsons (2000) Actor: Shawn Colvin Songs you might remember: He’s The Man Why you should vote for them: The Simpsons factor should always give a fake band a look. Why you should not vote for them:…

Krazee-Eyez Killa

From the spectacular HBO Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, we have a Gangster Rapper who dated Wanda Sykes’ character and of course briefly befriends Larry David. The interaction between the two is expected hilarity, though we don’t exactly learn much about Krazee’s rap career. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Curb Your Enthusiasm (2002) Actor: Chris Williams Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for him: We don’t think there is anyone else from this gem of a show. Why you should not vote for him: Was this even in the top 10 of fringe characters on this show?…

Lane Kinkaid

You will have to accept our apology but we are absolute marks for anything Wonder Woman. As such, we have another entry from the show with Lane Kinkaid, played by then teen heartthrob and future cautionary tale, Leif Garrett. Here he played…what else, a teen heartthrob singer, though this one had an evil twin which meant we had twice as much Leif. If this isn’t the cheesiest entry on the ballot, it at least makes the top ten.     The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Wonder Woman (1977) Actor: Leif Garrett Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote…

Larry Underwood

From the Stephen King film, turned TV Mini-Series, The Stand, we have Larry Underwood who was on the verge of a top ten hit before the apocalypse. We only got snippets of his song, (and a brief cover by Mr. Hand) in the Mini-Series, but despite the hell around him, we could always count on Larry Underwood playing that guitar. He even took it with him when he was set to meet his impending doom! The Bullet Points: TV Movie Appeared: The Stand (1994) Actor: Adam Storke Songs you might remember: Baby, Can You Dig Your Man? Why you should…
