If we were to this list based primarily on longevity and statistical accumulation then Paul Splittorff would be near the top, however, it is hard for us to rank someone higher when he never seriously challenged for any statistical win among hurlers in any season, nor was he really considered the ace of the staff by those in the know. 

This isn’t to say that Splittorff didn’t win a lot of games for the Royals because he won quite a lot of them!  The southpaw was a 20 Game winner in 1973 and was a 14 Game winner from 1977 to 1980.  Arguably, the highlights of Splittorff would be recording a Win in both the 1976 and 1977 ALCS against the Yankees.

The hurler had a record of 166-143 with 1,067 Strikeouts.  Spittorff entered the Royals Hall of Fame in 1987 as part of the second class.
