With his gravelly voice and rough exterior Dick the Bruiser was a great heel in the golden age of wrestling and one look at the cigar chomping ruffian, few thought he could be defeated. The Bruiser would garner numerous regional titles and become a star in Indianapolis where he ran the regional promotion. Along with the Crusher, Affis became an unlikely good guy, but did so without changing any aspect of his persona. A legendary tough guy, Dick the Bruiser does deserve place in a Wrestling Hall of Fame, but considering his limited (if any) work with the WWE, he might not get in.
