Predominantly, Jackie Fargo participated in tag teams with either his real life brother, or others who donned the Fargo name. Jackie Fargo was a brawling type of wrestler and helped to pioneer the art of brawling as opposed to technical grappling. This precursor to the hardcore scene proved to be very popular in the American South and Jackie Fargo was very happy to stay wrestling there. Fargo did travel outside of the South, but he was far more comfortable performing there and he certainly gave back to the area.
Most of those passed through the Memphis area learned from Jackie Fargo. He was known to be a great teacher and many who had passed through Memphis (including Lawler) praised Fargo as a true icon of the sport. Even if you haven’t seen Jackie Fargo, chances are you have seen someone copying the “Fargo Strut”.
