One of the biggest tragedies in professional wrestling was the early retirement of Daniel Bryan due to concussion issues, but for a man who was never supposed to make it in the WWE due to his size, he accomplished a hell of a lot on the biggest stage of all.
The wrestling world already knew that Bryan was a star long before he entered the WWE as his work in Ring of Honor and other promotions showed that he was the best technical wrestler in the world and while the WWE was reluctant to push him as such, he got over with the fans showing personality that many fans didn’t know he had.
That fandom took him to the main event at Wrestlemania XXX, where he won the World Championship and had one of the most feel good moments in professional wrestling. While we were robbed of more great moments in the ring, he is unquestionably a future WWE Hall of Famer.
We can already envision the “Yes” chant from the crowd!
*Edit: Bryan returned to in ring competition at Wrestlemania 34 and was removed from the core list.
