Sam Muchnick was a major force in the creation of the National Wrestling Alliance in 1948 and in 1950 would serve as the President of the most important governing body in professional wrestling from 1950 to 1977 (with the exception of two years). Muchnick would preside over the St. Louis territory making it one of the healthiest in the United States and would be the most influential men in the history of the NWA.
When Muchnick retired in 1982, the NWA would go into decline without his leadership, but as powerful as he was in professional wresting the fall of the NWA makes him a distant memory for many and a story that isn’t told enough.
