Tattrie was billed as “Tony Newbury” in the early days of the WWWF in the 60’s, but never escaped the lower card. He would move around, but his fortunes would change when he was in is late 30’s and he met Josip Reuzovic (the future Nikolai Volkoff) and he developed the idea of the Mongols. As Geto Mongol, he and Bepo (Volkoff) would become instant sensations and he would return to the Northeast at the top of the card and capture the WWWF International Tag Team Titles multiple times.
In addition to his in ring work, Tattrie ran the Pittsburgh territory for a couple of years after the Volkoff struck out on his own and he tired of promoting, he broke in a new partner (Bill Eadie) as Bolo Mongol, in Japan. He probably does not have much of a shot for the Hall, unless the Mongols suddenly have a renaissance in WWE folklore.
