As you may have deduced, we are not in the practice of ranking wrestlers from TNA.  It is not that we don’t respect them, but realistically as long as they are competing for the only viable National wrestling alternative, they will never be inducted while they are actively performing there.  We are not sure if we are making an exception with Tazz, who due to injury will never perform again, but is the current color commentator with Impact Wrestling.

Beginning as the primitive Tazmaniac, Taz shed the caveman inspired gear and acted like the legitimate tough guy he was.  He was not a tall man, but with a devastating arsenal of suplexes and submissions, the mean looking wrestler looked like he could kick anyone’s ass.  The ECW arena constantly rang with chants of “Taz is going to kill you” when he faced opponents who seemed to be out of their league.

Without a doubt, Taz is historically one of the most important figures in ECW and although injuries prevented him from living up to a better WWE career, he did develop into a decent broadcaster under their watch.  At some point, one of the long term ECW mainstays will get into the Hall of Fame.  Taz would not be a bad choice.
