With her second album, the monster hit “Nothing Compares 2 U” made her an international star. Perhaps that stardom was not her friend as she seemingly imploded her career with controversial statements and the infamous Saturday Night Live debacle. Still, O’Connor remained a prolific songstress who may have turned off the mainstream but remained a respected member of the musical community. She is a wild card entry at best, but the Hall may be hesitant to put a live microphone in front of her for any induction ceremony.
