It did not receive the press that it probably deserved, but former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Tackle, Jethro Pugh died yesterday at the age of 70 of natural causes.
Pugh was a member of the potent Dallas Cowboys’ Doomsday Defense and he was a part of the first four Cowboys Super Bowl appearances and their first two Super Bowl wins. He would become the first payer in team history to lead the team in Quarterback Sacks (1968-72) and would record 95.5 Sacks over his fourteen year career, all of which was as a Cowboy.
Although Pugh was never named to a Pro Bowl, he was still regarded as a top defensive player in the National Football League and at this time we here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to take a moment to celebrate his career.
We would also like to take a moment to offer our condolences to the friends and family of Jethro Pugh.
