If you remember the night that hell froze over and Eric Bischoff appeared on WWE television hugging Vince McMahon, Bischoff told the live audience that he was “this close” to putting Vince out of business. It was no lie, he was that close. From getting Nitro to go up against Raw, giving away Raw matches, launching the cruiserweight division, raiding the WWE roster and forming the New World Order, Eric Bischoff made Monday Nights necessary to watch wrestling and forced the WWE to step up their game.In the end, by forcing the WWE to improve they did so in a way that eventually put WCW out of business. Many point to Bischoff as the reason for that promotion’s downfall but at the end of the day, Eric Bischoff showed a lot of balls in trying and he gave it everything he had.He may have eventually lost the war that he started but there is no denying that Eric Bischoff made wrestling better.
