Super Furry Animals

Trying to categorize Super Furry Animals is virtually impossible.  The only thing that seems remotely accurate would be Experimental Rock as they used anything to everything from Power Pop, Punk, Techno to Prog Rock and created an eclectic sound all their own.  The surprising result was music that critics raved about and singles that were hits in the United Kingdom.  Their success may have stemmed from the fact that for a band so in touch musically they made music that lacked pretentiousness.  If only the United States learned what the U.K. has known about for years.
