Considered one of the more influential Hip Hop duos of the early 90’s, the East Coast rap duo of Gang Starr perfected the blend of New Jack Swing with Rap. They were masters of creating beats and combining them with socially aware lyrics. Because their skills were so bountiful, they often collaborated with other artists due to their high demand. This rendered their collective work to be limited but what they did do was brilliant. Whether they find entry into the Hall may depend on whether the influential Hip Hop stars before them get in to pave their entry.
